NEW! How you can make your stay more authentic, sustainable and memorable

These tips provide the insider’s knowledge on how travelers can engage with local culture, make their vacations more memorable, promote sustainability in the region, and enhance their overall holiday experience.

  • Dreams Puerto Vallarta has a program in place designed to help save the Golfina sea turtles from extinction. Visitors can get involved by making monetary contributions and by participating “hands on” in the hotel’s “Dreaming of Freedom” baby turtle release program. There is a protected reserve area on the beach where the turtle nests are guarded and cared for until the babies hatch. During the nesting season (June to November), the hotel has a nightly “baby turtle release” event where guests participate as a group by actually releasing a baby turtle directly into the surf. This event is particularly meaningful for families with younger children, for wedding and honeymoon couples and for anyone who is dedicated to the conservation of dwindling species. (This program is seasonal and the turtle releases are only scheduled when the turtles are actively hatching. October and November are the peak months for this event.)
  • Puerto Vallarta is a destination that is filled with opportunities to experience Mexican culture first hand. From visiting popular local restaurants such as Fajita Banana and El Arrayán to cultural celebrations as The Festival of Guadalupe taking place first twelve days of December, travelers are likely to come back home with an upbeat Mexican spirit
  • Dreams Puerto Vallarta features various “Green” programs that travelers can engage into, ranging from recycling of waste materials, energy conservation programs, to an optional “reuse of linens” program.
